Charlottesville Utilities Kicks off Free Tree Pick-Up Event!

What: The Charlottesville Department of Utilities, in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, kicks-off this year’s Energy-Saving Trees Program pick-up event this Friday! Participants in the program will pick up their pre-reserved tree to strategically plant on their property. The successful planting of these trees will help deliver energy- and cost-saving benefits to their home and the broader community and will provide 502,062 pounds of carbon sequestration over 20 years.

When: Tree pick-up will occur over two days, beginning this Friday, March 24, 4:30PM-6:30PM. The second day of pick-up is Saturday, March 25, 9AM-1PM.

Where: The event will take place in the parking lot of the Utilities Administration Building at 305 4th Street NW, adjacent to the City Yard.

Who: All trees have been reserved by Charlottesville Utilities customers who pre-registered for the program prior to the pick-up event. With support from Utilities’ staff, participants will pick up their tree on the date they selected at registration.
