REC Names Director of Financial Planning and Treasury Services

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) has promoted Michael Curley to Director of Financial Planning and Treasury Services.
 
“Mr. Curley has invaluable knowledge and experience in finance,” said Tosh Bowe, REC’s Managing Director—Administrative Services/Controller. “His work at REC will continue to ensure the financial health and security of the Cooperative.”
 
In this role, Curley coordinates and manages annual budgets, as well as provides high-level financial analysis and forecasts, among other related responsibilities.
Most recently, he served as REC’s Supervisor of Budgets and Forecasting. Prior to coming to REC in 2001, Curley worked in corporate finances for a variety of organizations, including AMF Bowling Worldwide, Hanover County and the Department of Defense.
Curley earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech. He served as the Director of a Youth Basketball League for 17 years and serves as a deacon at Cool Spring Church. He has two children, Thomas and Amanda, and resides with his wife, Dana, in Hanover County.
REC provides electric service to over 172,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., the Cooperative operates and maintains more than 18,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
