Town of Stanardsville issued the following announcement on Jun. 18.
The Town of Stanardsville’s usual 4th of July Parade will return on that Sunday at 5:00 p.m., following the traditional route down Main Street. Spectators are asked to wear masks and social distance as they observe parade floats, vehicles and walking units marching east on Main Street from Monroe Ave. to Rectory Lane. Bishop Michael Jackson will be this year’s Grand Marshall in recognition of his years of service to the community.
The family-friendly celebration will continue at Morris Field on Route 33, across from Ruckersville Elementary School, from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. There will be food trucks, live music, bounce attractions, face-painting, games and rides on Stanardsville Express barrel train. The festivities will conclude with the traditional Capitol Sheds Fireworks Display.
A 50-50 raffle will be held onsite on the day of the event, with proceeds going to support the Stanardsville Independence Day Committee to aid in funding future events.
