Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 12
The Central and Western Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association announces the addition of Peter Thompson, Executive Director of The Center at Belvedere, at its June meeting.
Peter Thompson has served as executive director of The Center, a nonprofit that creates opportunities for healthy aging, since 1999. He has a BA in History from the University of Virginia and an MPA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Peter, who helped found the Charlottesville Area Alliance, has served on the boards of OLLI-UVA, Madison House, Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Center for Nonprofit Excellence.
“I am exceptionally pleased to welcome Peter Thompson to our Board,” said Lissa Greenlee, Executive Director of the Central and Western Virginia Chapter. "Peter brings professional talents and community leadership to our Chapter Board, which will enhance the success of our strategic plan and goals. He also understands the personal impact of Alzheimer's disease, and the critical importance of both research and local services."
