How many patents granted in Charlottesville in week ending June 27?

Patent 2

There were four patents granted in Charlottesville in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is unchanged from the week before. Patents included a system, method and computer readable medium for software protection via composable process-level virtual machines.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending June 27 belonged to Jack W. Davidson who filed in December 11, 2015.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
