JABA Operations Update

Technology10

County of Nelson issued the following announcement on Sept. 7

As we watch the number of cases increase in the community, due to the Delta variant of COVID, we are concerned for the health and safety of our members/clients and our team. This variant has an easier transmission than the original COVID. People are reporting a breakthrough of contracting the Delta variant even after being vaccinated, and transmitting it, sometimes without having symptoms of their own.

In an abundance of caution, JABA leadership has decided to close the community senior centers and adult care centers for the remainder of September. We will be closed through October 1. Just like last March, we will be providing weekly check-in calls, Home Delivered Meals and activities through At Home With JABA.

All other JABA services and support will be available virtually. We will be answering the Senior Helpline and working with clients by phone or Zoom to meet their needs.

We will provide updates as the situation changes, so please check back to see the status of programs and access resources. In the meantime, please stay safe- get vaccinated and wear a mask. We will stay connected and communicating through these challenging times, so you are not alone.
