Greene County issued the following announcement on Oct. 29
The Greene County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. to consider the adoption of an ordinance to amend Chapter 66, Taxation, of the Code of Greene County to include a Cigarette Tax and to impose a tax of $0.40 per pack on cigarettes sold in Greene County effective January 1, 2022. Public participation will be available remotely via telephone and/or electronic means. Detailed instructions for the remote participation will be provided on the Greene County Website (www.greenecountyva.gov) prior to the public hearing. This hearing will be hosted live.
