County of Ablemarle issued the following announcement on Oct. 29

If you requested a ballot by mail for the November 2 election and have not yet mailed it back, we recommend that you bring your ballot to one of our ballot drop boxes.

• 24/7 until 7 pm on November 2 – located outside the front door of the 5th Street County Office Building (1600 5th Street Extended)
• On November 2, from 6 am to 7 pm at any County polling place

If you do mail your ballot, it must be postmarked by November 2 and received by our Election Office by noon on Friday, November 5. Be sure to use the pre-addressed envelope sent with your mail-in ballot.
