Redistricting is the process by which the boundaries of election districts and voting precincts are drawn. Members of the County's Board of Supervisors and School Board are elected from the magisterial districts. The process occurs every ten years after the census is completed.
Why are we Redistricting?
State and federal law require localities to redraw their magisterial districts every ten years. Redistricting addresses population shifts at the county level. The boundaries of a magisterial district and/or voting precinct may have to change to preserve proportionality in population among the districts.
