Lend a Helping Hand to Reduce Pollution: Donate Reusable Grocery Bags

The City of Charlottesville is moving to reduce plastic pollution in our community.  As authorized through Virginia Code § 58.1-1745, retailers are now required to charge $0.05 per disposable plastic bag provided to customers at checkout.

While this will reduce pollution in the community, not everyone has the resources to obtain eco-friendly alternatives. The following locations are accepting donations of reusable grocery bags that can be provided to community members in need:

  • Refill Renew: 1717 Allied Lane off Harris Street, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903
  • Dogwood Refillery: 190 Zan Road, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901
