There were four American Indian students enrolled in Nelson County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 20% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Nelson County Public Schools District welcomed 1,495 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.
