2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 184 2nd-grade students welcomed in Greene County schools

There were 184 2nd-grade students enrolled in Greene County schools in the 2023-24 school year, the same number from the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 2nd-grade students in the county was Nathanael Greene Primary School.

Within Greene County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Greene County ranked 80th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 80th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
