48 students were enrolled for pre-kindergarten in Greene County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 48 pre-kindergarten students enrolled in Greene County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 11.6% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Nathanael Greene Primary School was the only school that welcomed pre-kindergarten students in the county.

Within Greene County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Greene County ranked 80th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 80th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
