In 2023-24 school year, white students had highest representation in Fluvanna County districts

White students comprised the largest ethnic group in Fluvanna County districts during the 2023-24 school year, according to reports from the Virginia Department of Education.

Of the 3,372 students attending Fluvanna County district schools, 65.5% were white. Black made up the second largest ethnic group, comprising 14% of the student population.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Fluvanna County districts, representing 66.7% of the student body.

In the 2023-24 school year, the total number of students enrolled in the county dropped 1.9% compared to the previous year.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Fluvanna County.

As of November 2023, according to Public School Review, in the 2023-24 school year, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
