What does 19th-century slave-owner and U.S. statesman Henry Clay have to do with legendary boxer Muhammad Ali? Discover the answer to this unexpected connection and more in newly released documentary Clay 1613, which traces the many descendants — Black and white, known and unknown, rich and poor — of planter John Clay, who arrived in Jamestown, Virginia circa 1612–13. Filmmaker Leontyne Clay Peck joins us to share her 18-year journey in finding and documenting her Clay family ancestry.
