The University of Virginia announced on May 15 that its 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference football matchup against Duke will take place on Friday, Oct. 23 at Scott Stadium. The specific game time and television details will be released later.

This game is a rematch of the previous year’s ACC Championship, where Virginia and Duke each secured a win over the other. The Cavaliers defeated the Blue Devils during the regular season in Durham with a score of 34-17, but Duke won the championship title in overtime, beating Virginia 27-20 to claim its first outright ACC Championship since 1962.

Historically, Virginia holds a record of 42 wins and 34 losses against Duke. The two teams have played each other every year since 1962 except for one year in 2024. In Charlottesville, Virginia has won the last six games against Duke dating back to the start of the 2015 season.

The upcoming contest will be one of two Friday games at Scott Stadium in the 2026 season; Virginia’s home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 11 against Norfolk State.

Season-ticket deposits for the upcoming season are now available through UVAtix.com. These deposits are non-refundable and count toward ticket balances; deposit holders will be contacted by ticket staff according to their priority point order with more information provided by email or phone from the Athletics Ticket Office.

Virginia Athletics also announced that it will continue its partnership with REVELxp to offer full-service tailgating packages at O-Hill Field near Scott Stadium during home games. Fans can choose from full-season or single-game options that include setup and breakdown services as well as optional food, beverage packages, and entertainment.
