The No. 23 Virginia softball team will begin its run in the 2026 Allstate Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Championship against Pitt on May 6, with first pitch scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Virginia enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a record of 37-12, while Pitt holds the No. 11 seed at 25-26. The Cavaliers finished their conference schedule at 13-10 and have won five out of eight series this year.
All games leading up to the championship will be broadcast on ACC Network, with the final set for ESPN. Fans can also follow live stats and updates through ESPN.com, the ESPN app, or by visiting VirginiaSports.com and following @UVASoftball on X. Ticket options include all-session passes priced at $45 and daily tickets ranging from $12 to $20; children two years old and under are admitted free.
This year’s event marks a milestone as Virginia hosts the ACC Championship for the first time in program history at Palmer Park. The Cavaliers have performed strongly at home this season, posting a record of 24-4 in home games.
Key players for Virginia include junior first baseman Macee Eaton, who leads with a .447 batting average and a team-high of 60 runs batted in (RBI). Eaton ranks eighth in batting average and sixth in RBI among league players entering tournament play; she is also close to matching her own single-season RBI record set last year. Bella Cabral has contributed power to the lineup with a team-leading thirteen home runs and an .824 slugging percentage. Jade Hylton continues her consistent performance both offensively—batting .560 when leading off—and defensively, ranking fifth in assists within the conference.
Virginia’s offense is approaching several program records set last season; this year’s squad ranks second all-time for single-season home runs (62) and RBIs (274), as well as third for total runs scored (298). With their most recent win over Liberty marking their thirty-seventh victory of the regular season—the highest since achieving thirty-eight wins in 2004—the Cavaliers are aiming for their first forty-win campaign since recording forty-five victories in 2002.
