3.3% of citizens unemployed in Albemarle County in 2021

Albemarle County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,884 people out of the 111,438 living in Albemarle County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Albemarle County has decreased compared to the 3.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Albemarle County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 55,070 people who had a job during that time, 273 were employed in the Armed Forces and 54,797 belonged to the civilian labor force.
